Are Digital Yarbs images free to use?

Yes. Most downloadable images on this site are free for non-commercial use with attribution under the Creative Commons CC BY-NC 4.0 license, unless otherwise stated on the individual image page.

What does “non-commercial” mean?

Non-commercial use means the image is not being used to make money, promote a paid product or service, or generate advertising revenue.

If money is involved in any way, permission is required.

YouTube, Social Media, and Video

Can I use Digital Yarbs images on YouTube?

Yes, as long as the video is non-commercial and includes attribution.

What if my YouTube channel is monetized?

Monetized videos are considered commercial use. Please contact me for permission before using the images.

Can I use the images on social media?

Yes. Social media use is allowed for non-commercial posts as long as proper credit is given.


Education and Research

Can I use these images for school projects?

Yes. School assignments, classroom presentations, research papers, and educational materials are allowed with attribution.

Can teachers use these images in class?

Yes. Teachers and educators may use the images for non-commercial educational purposes with credit.


Wikipedia and Public Archives

Can I upload Digital Yarbs images to Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons?

Usually no. Wikipedia generally requires licenses that allow commercial reuse, which CC BY-NC does not permit.

Because of this, Digital Yarbs images typically do not qualify for Wikimedia Commons.
